Bus driver accused in Forest Hills hit-and-run arrested

FOREST HILLS, Pa. — A bus driver accused of hitting a woman Wednesday morning in Forest Hills and then driving away was arrested Thursday night.

Police said Ernest Brevard is accused of hitting Alberta Slczka while she was walking along Greensburg Pike about 8 a.m.

Witnesses told police that they saw the driver circle the area, realize that he hit someone and then flee the scene.

Slaczka, 67, was taken to Mercy Hospital with broken ribs and a broken hip. She remains in critical condition.

According to police, Brevard was interviewed hours after the crash and denied any involvement.

He was taken into custody at his Wilkins Township home Thursday just before 9 p.m.

Brevard is facing several charges, including accident involving death or personal injury and reckless driving.
