Cable line problem disables phone service for some Westmoreland Co. residents

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — Some residents of Westmoreland County were without phone service Tuesday morning after a cable line was cut.

Emergency services spokesman Dan Stevens said anyone with a 724-593 exchange; which included residents of Cook Township, Donegal Borough, Donegal Township and the Stahlstown area were without landline service for short time.

Stevens said a cable line was somehow cut and crews worked quickly to get it repaired.

Service was restored just before 9 a.m.
