• Car crashes into store on McKnight Road

    Updated:

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A driver was not hurt after crashing into a McKnight Road store Friday morning in Ross Township.

The car crashed into a shop called West Marine in the Seibert Road Shopping Plaza just before 10:30 a.m.

The driver of the car told police she hit the gas instead of the brake.

“It was like metal scraping, so I thought it was maybe a ladder, but it was obviously something much bigger,” witness Melissa Elkatib said.

The car was towed out of the store, and the driver refused medical attention at the scene.

“I feel bad for this company, but selfishly I'm glad they didn't come into ours," said Elkatib.

    Damage is estimated at $7,000.

The driver will not be charged, police said.
