• Car slams into house in Forward Township

FORWARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Emergency crews rushed to Forward Township Wednesday afternoon after a car crashed into a house.

Authorities said the accident was reported about 4 p.m. at Morgan Run Road and Locust Avenue.

"I was coming down my step and I heard a really big bang. It sounded like a lot of gunshots going off. I thought it made something explode or someone went into the woods and hit a tree,” witness Sarah Stump said.

The driver had some cuts on her hand and was taken to a hospital as a precaution, officials said.

According to police, no one from inside the house was injured in the crash, but the house was damaged.

The road near the crash was closed while crews investigated and cleared the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
