Caretaker couple accused of stealing over $6,600 from elderly Scott Township man

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A couple who was hired to take care of an elderly Scott Township man is accused of forging and cashing checks from the 86-year-old's account.

Investigators said Amy and Greg Guzzi were hired by the victim to do work around his home.

Police said Greg Guzzi performed handiwork, and Amy Guzzi would run errands and cook meals.

The Guzzis were arrested and charged on Sept. 28 with forging and cashing four checks that total more than $6,600.

“A family member called and thought there was unusual activity on the account,” Scott Township Police Sgt. Jeff Skees said. “He passed the checks, and it is our belief that he was signing the checks.”
