City celebrates 'Highmark First Night' in Pittsburgh's Cultural District

PITTSBURGH — The city of Pittsburgh is gearing up for tonight's "Highmark First Night" celebration.

The party in Pittsburgh's Cultural District is the largest New Years Eve celebration in the area.

All of the family-friendly events take place in and around downtown's Cultural District. Those planning on attending the event should prepare for road closures and bus detours.

First Night begins at 6 p.m. with the Dollar Bank children's fireworks display. The First Night parade begins at 8 p.m. and the evening concludes with a performance by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band on the Highmark stage.
