Couple faces judge after death of child

PITTSBURGH — A Wilkinsburg couple faced a judge Thursday morning to answer to charges filed after the death of their 5-week-old baby.

Investigators said the child was taken from a home on McNary Boulevard last month and died at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Police told Channel 11's Renee Kaminski that there were two other children in the home who had also suffered injuries from abuse.

The father, Lincoln Levys, was charged with aggravated assault and the mother, Sheena Alston, was charged with child endangerment. Neither is charged in the child’s death.

The case was postponed until Dec. 18 because the medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of the child’s death.
