• Crews battle flames at Lawrence Co. chemical plant

    ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. - Firefighters battled flames at a Lawrence County chemical plant for several hours Saturday.

    Fire crews from two counties responded to the fire at the INMETCO Services Plant in Ellwood City after people inside the plant reported cardboard boxes had caught on fire, officials said.

    Crews from Lawrence and Beaver counties were able to put out the flames. No injuries were reported.

    A decontamination trailer was brought in to wash down crews that responded to the fire.
