Dog shot with pellet gun killed in Eighty Four

None — EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. -- A family in Eighty Four said the family pet was shot and killed with a pellet gun.

Jackie Welch said her daughter found her family's Shina Inu named Casper dead in alleyway near their home over the weekend.

"They thought he got ran over and then they got closer, and there were no marks or anything. My daughter turned him over and found the bullet hole and that's when they called police," Welch said.

Welch said Casper escaped by digging a hole under their fence. Welch said she had no idea who would have done this.

"I would like to know why and if it was an accident they could at least apologize," Welch said.

Welch said her other two dogs were in the yard at the time of the shooting. She said she's now warned neighbors to be on the lookout. She also said she is offering a reward for information on who shot her dog.
