• Elderly McKeesport man dies in house fire


    McKEESPORT, Pa. - An elderly man died in a house fire in McKeesport Saturday morning.

    The fire started around 5:30 a.m. at the residence on Archer Street.

    According to the Allegheny County fire marshal's office, the man, 87, whose name has not been released, was found dead in the basement of his home.

    “We lost a best friend of everybody in the neighborhood,” McKeesport fire Chief Kevin Lust said.

    The fire is under investigation.
