Emergency crews rescue woman who fell over rocky hillside in Lower Burrell

LOWER BURRELL, Pa. — On Monday, emergency crews rescued a woman who fell more than 20 feet over a rocky hillside in Lower Burrell.

Authorities said the woman was walking on a trail and fell over a guardrail just after noon near the Braeburn Dam.

Officials said the hillside was very steep, so she fell about 20-30 feet very quickly. The woman didn’t have a cellphone, so it took about an hour for someone to find her.

Investigators said a Comcast worker saw her and called for help. The woman told responders she was OK but suffered cuts and bruises.

The woman’s name and condition have not been released.
