• Firefighters face problems battling Squirrel Hill blaze

    Updated:

PITTSBURGH - Firefighters had difficulties battling flames at a home on Forbes Terrace Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said flames were reported at a building near the intersection of Forbes and Murray avenues about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said firefighters had problems extinguishing the flames because they couldn’t bring trucks right up to the house because of a courtyard. They were forced to drag hoses to the flames.

The fire started in the basement of one of the units inside the home. The cause remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.
