Firefighters knock down icicles dangerously dangling from pre-school

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Firefighters were called to Today's Learning Child Care and Education Academy in Greensburg Tuesday to prevent a possible tragedy.

A crew safely knocked down icicles that were dangerously dangling from the building.

"The kids walk in and out of here with their parents in the morning and it's just a hazard," said teacher Marie Gallagher.

"We'd hate to see any of the little kids get hurt," said Greensburg Assistant Fire Chief James Bold.

Some of the ice that crashed down weighed more than 20 pounds.

The kids gave the firefighters a round of applause, thanking them for their hard work.

"It makes us feel good," said Bold.
