Foundation for former Pitt standout and current Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin formally announced

PITTSBURGH — What started as a nearly tragic event has turned into something that could, potentially, help lots and lots of people.

And it appears Damar Hamlin and his family are taking the steps necessary to make that happen.

On Jan. 2, during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin, a McKees Rocks graduate and University of Pittsburgh star, was injured while playing for the Buffalo Bills. After getting hit in the chest, Hamlin collapsed on the field and received CPR from training staff. He was taken to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest, but after a week, it appears Hamlin is on the road to recovery.
