Girl, 15, shot in shoulder while walking in Brookline

PITTSBURGH — Police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl showed up at a Pittsburgh hospital early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound.

The Mt. Washington teenager arrived at UPMC Mercy Hospital after having been shot in the right shoulder. Officers were called to the hospital about 1:30 a.m. and the teen told them she was shot while walking with two friends near a 7-Eleven on Brookline Boulevard in Brookline.

Investigators are looking into a possible connection to shots reported in the 2300 block of Edgebrook Avenue around the same time the girl was shot.
