Greensburg home burglarized dozens of times in recent months

GREENSBURG, Pa. — A Greensburg home burglarized multiple times in recent months was targeted again Wednesday.

Judy Bengel told Channel 11 her home has recently been broken into several dozen times, and when her brother, Terry Bengel, went to check on the home Wednesday, he found an intruder inside.

Terry Bengel said he saw a chair under an opened window at his sister’s home, and a masked man inside.

“I found a young man in her bedroom,” said Terry Bengel.

He startled the man when he said he was calling police, who are investigating if the same man is responsible for the previous break-ins.

“I'm tired of having somebody break into my sister's house. She's afraid to go to bed at night,” said Terry Bengel.

“He's here about once a week, when he runs out of money, I guess,” said Judy Bengel.

She said some change was taken from her home Tuesday, and previously discovered prescription pills missing.

Judy Bengel said she has been reluctant to notify police because she wasn’t sure if they’d believe her.

“I guess I just don't believe it. I mean, every time it happens, I just don't believe it,” she said.
