Fire destroys Industry Borough's snow removal equipment

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — Flames ripped through a building in Beaver County Friday morning filled with Industry Borough’s snow removal equipment and salt supply.

Officials said the blaze was reported at the municipal garage, which keeps with area’s snow plows and salt trucks, around 1 a.m.

“Two plow trucks, one brand new, a pickup, a tractor that moves equipment – everything is lost,” Industry road supervisor Paul Dille said.

Dille told Channel 11 News that the borough will rely on nearby departments to help them deal with the weekend’s storm.

“Everybody’s going to help everybody,” Dille said.

Some neighbors, however, are still worried about the safety of the roads.

“We’re going to be stuck at home,” one resident said.

Firefighters battled the flames in shifts because of Friday’s bitterly cold temperatures. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
