1 killed in crash on Interstate 79 in Washington County

CANONSBURG, Pa. — One person was killed when his pickup truck hit a tractor-trailer on Interstate 79 in Washington County Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the accident happened just before 4 p.m. in North Strabane Township.

State police said the driver, Mark Chesick, of Pittsburgh, lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on.

Chesick was thrown from the truck and died at the scene, police said.
