Woman waiting for haircut killed when car crashes into salon

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Channel 11 News has confirmed that a woman was killed when a car crashed through the exterior of a hair salon late Friday morning in Butler County.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at Scissor Heaven Hairstyling & Tanning on North Pike Road in Jefferson Township around 11:30 a.m.

State police told Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic that a woman who was going to get her hair cut drove through the salon for unknown reasons.

A woman who was sitting inside waiting to get her hair cut was killed and a man who also was waiting was injured.

Investigators said the driver of the car is in her 70s, and she was taken to an area hospital.

The victim and driver’s names have not been released.

Father Mark Pattock, of St. Joseph’s Church in Cabot, said the woman who was killed, as well as the driver, were parishioners at the church.

“I want to console and show God’s love is the most important thing right now,” Fr. Pattock said. “We love out parishioners and we’re here to offer consolation to the ones we love, especially when tragedy happens.

State police troopers from Butler were investigating.
