Lane closures expected during weekend bridge inspections

PITTSBURGH — The Fort Duquesne and Smithfield Street bridges will undergo inspection Saturday and Sunday.

Single lane closures on the Fort Duquesne Bridge will occur from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, southbound Interstate 279 will be restricted to a single lane approaching the Fort Duquesne Bridge. The left lane of the bridge will be closed.

Sunday's scheduled inspection of the Fort Duquesne Bridge will cause center lane closures on the bridge. Single lane closures will occur on southbound Route 65 and southbound I-279 approaching the bridge.

Inspection of the Smithfield Street Bridge will affect traffic on Interstate 376 over the weekend.

A lane closure of inbound I-376 will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday between the Grant Street (exit 71-A) interchange and the Stanwix Street (exit 70-D) interchange.

On Sunday, an outbound lane closure of I-376 will occur between the Fort Pitt Bridge and the Grant Street (exit 71-A) interchange from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
