Local grocery store to keep prices locked-in during the holiday season

PITTSBURGH — Giant Eagle introduced Wednesday a program that will keep the prices of hundreds of items in their stores the same through Jan. 2.

Just in time for the busy holiday spending season, the Low Price Lock program will ensure that prices do not go up on selected items -- both national and Giant Eagle brands.

The grocery chain hopes the program will keep customers happy as bargain stores like Bottom Dollar and Aldi continue to move into the area.

Regardless of what the market brings in the upcoming months, Giant Eagle officials said shoppers will find relief in knowing that they will not be spending more on groceries.
