North Huntingdon police charge man accused of exposing self in public

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — A man who North Huntingdon police said exposed himself in public turned himself in Friday.

According to authorities, Harold Thacker, of West Virginia, exposed himself at least twice in public.

Police said the first reported incident happened on Feb. 23 at a Wal-Mart.

Officials said a man walked into the retail establishment and exposed himself to a female in one of the aisles.

The second alleged incident happened March 11 at a Dollar General.

"I find it appalling to imagine children walking through a store and being exposed to that," shopper Chaz Bowers said. "It's a shame you can't even go to the store around here without having to deal with indecency."

Surveillance images of Thacker had been released prior to him turning himself into police in Irwin.

Thacker is charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
