• Man accused of slamming into police cruiser on Route 51, leaving scene

    CORAOPOLIS, Pa. - Police arrested a Kennedy Township man accused of slamming into a police cruiser Thursday night in Coraopolis, and then fleeing the scene.

    Authorities said 58-year-old Timothy Yost was driving on Route 51 when he crossed the double line and hit the officer’s vehicle.

    Police caught up with Yost a short time later and arrested him on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.

    The police officer suffered minor cuts to his hand. The cruiser’s side mirror and window were broken in the crash.
