Man accused of stabbing teenage girl at East Liberty Target held for trial

EAST LIBERTY, Pa. — A man accused of stabbing several shoppers last year at Target in East Liberty was held for trial on Tuesday.

According to police, Leon Raymond Walls stabbed several people with a steak knife inside the store last March.

Allison Meadows, a 16-year-old girl from Tennessee who was the most seriously injured victim, appeared in court on Tuesday. She didn’t testify, but her mother did.

Channel 11's Alan Jennings called this "a tough case for the defense" because police have surveillance video and a half-dozen eye witnesses.

“It was a little scary to see that guy face-to-face like that,” eyewitness Michael Turner said Tuesday after the court appearance.

Turner helped disarm Walls during the attack.

“It brought tears to my eyes. I’m upset. It’s hard,” Turner said.

Jennings reported that two additional charges of simple assault and attempted homicide were added during Tuesday’s preliminary hearing. A trial date should be set soon.
