BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — A man who authorities said tried to take a police officer’s gun inside a convenience store apologized Monday.
Matthew Fleeger, 36, said he was sorry as he walked into court for his preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

Surveillance video showed the incident at the Marathon Gas Station in Butler earlier this month.
Police said Fleeger failed to obey orders from the officer, who was forced to use a stun gun.
“We are proud of how she handled herself,” Butler City Police Capt. Dave Delcamo said.
The stun gun was ineffective because of the coat Fleeger was wearing. He was taken into custody once four other officers arrived at the scene.
Fleeger waived the charges to court.
