• Man assaulted, robbed of money, vehicle in Canton Twp.

    CANTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A Washington County man was assaulted during a home invasion at his Canton Township home early Sunday morning.

    According to police, a man knocked on the door of Howard Sibert’s Brook Avenue home in Town and Country Trailer Court about 2:30 a.m. When Sibert, 69, answered the door, a masked man forced his way into the home and assaulted him.

    The man took Sibert’s wallet, a coin jar and the keys to his 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, which the man then drove away in, police said.

    Sibert was taken to Washington Hospital to be treated for head trauma.

    His truck is tan and has Pennsylvania license plate YKG-9124.
