Investigators release detailed sketch of Hempfield Twp. luring suspect

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Investigators have released a sketch of a man accused of trying to lure a young girl into his car in Westmoreland County Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Nicholas Lane in the Green Hills Trailer Park in Hempfield Township.

Authorities said the man, described as being white and in his late 40s or early 50s, got out of his car and used an ice cream cone to try to lure a 9-year-old girl riding her bike. When she backed away, he tried grabbing her arm before she ran off.

The man stood about 5 feet 5 inches tall and had a medium build with a beard and mustache, authorities said. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a white pullover hoodie and black shoes.

The man was driving an older model white Chrysler Sebring with a black roof.

“The fact that this individual is doing this in broad daylight is cause for concern,” Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Steve Limani said.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing the same actor and vehicle in the trailer park within the past week driving slowly.

“We’re hoping that between the vehicle description and the composite sketch, we’ll get some leads,” Limani said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Greensburg at 724-832-3288.

“That could have been my little girl, and I cherish my little girl. It’s not right,” parent Branden Sisco said.
