Man dead after crashing into Butler Co. restaurant

MARS, Pa. — A man who crashed into a Butler County restaurant along Valencia Road on Friday has died.

Police said the unidentified driver hit several parked cars and took out a railing before crashing onto Jimmy’s Grill in Mars.

According to officers, the customers inside at the time were not injured, but the driver was flown to UPMC Presbyterian, where he later died.

Amanda Eichenauer, a waitress at Jimmy’s Grill, said it was a miracle the car did not go through the restaurant’s window, where customers were sitting in booths along the wall.

"I mean it shook the whole building. We had a mom and her daughter here sitting, and we had another gentleman right here sitting where the car pretty much hit the building," said Eichenauer.

At this time, police said it is unclear as to what caused the crash.
