Man's car plunges over hillside nearly 1,000 feet

BUTLER, Pa. — A driver remains hospitalized after his car went over a hillside and plunged nearly 1,000 feet Wednesday night in Butler.
 
Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported the accident happened on East Jefferson Street when Fred Killmeyer's car veered out of control, went over the hillside and landed on railroad tracks below.
 
Killmeyer was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition has not been released. Officials said he's lucky to be alive.
