• Millvale business damaged after car slams into building

MILLVALE, Pa. - A business in Millvale was damaged after a car slammed into the building on Sunday.

Kristen McIntyre, an employee of Distinctly U, a contractor plumbing supply company, said someone driving a Mazda crossed a nearby intersection and slammed into the plumbing section of the business on East Ohio Street.

McIntyre said the crash happened when no one was inside the building.

“We were happy not to be here, because we probably wouldn’t be here to talk about it,” McIntyre said. “I didn’t think it would look this bad.”

The impact from the crash damaged the company's supplies and a desk.

Workers spent much of Monday cleaning up and making repairs so the business can continue to operate.

“(The driver) did apologize,” McIntyre said. “I have no clue about an estimate yet. I don’t even want to think about it.”

Authorities said they're still investigating the incident, but the driver was not injured and did not seem drunk.
