Missing Hempfield teenager found after leaving to meet someone she met online

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A missing Westmoreland County teenager was found after heading hundreds of miles away with someone she met online.

"So many things went through my mind.  I just pictured so many terrible things," said Joni Flowers, Lisa Flowers' mother.

Lisa Flowers, 18, is autistic, and her mom said she just wants to keep her daughter safe.

"She trusts everybody.  Everybody is her friend," said Joni Flowers.

Lisa Flowers left her Hempfield Township home early Monday, not telling anyone where she was headed.

"We came home and called police immediately.  I knew somebody picked her up," said Joni Flowers.

Channel 11 has learned Lisa Flowers was halfway through Ohio and headed to Dodge City, Kansas with a 21-year-old man.  Police said the man's father was driving.

Police contacted Channel 11, asking the station to get Lisa Flowers' picture out there.

Police received tips from viewers and located the car Lisa Flowers was riding in in Lewisburg, Ohio.

"The father was basically going to be a taxi service to help pick her up and take her back out to where they were at," said Trooper Steve Limani.
