Mother says 9-year-old daughter was beaten by 3 boys, 2 girls on Freedom school bus

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. — The mother of a 9-year-old girl said her daughter was beaten by a group of children on a Freedom Area School District bus.

Tamera Marraffa said her daughter was targeted by three boys and two girls on a school bus in New Sewickley Township.

Marraffa said she filed a complaint with police and learned that the bus company has video of the attack, but she has not been permitted to see it.

The girl's mother said this was not the first time her daughter has been bullied.

"The same kids continue to do the same thing over and over and over again," Marrafaf said.

School district officials released a statement saying, "The Freedom Area School District is investigating an incident that occurred on one of our school buses. Although the district does not comment on specific disciplinary situations, we take the safety of our students very seriously."

Marraffa said her daughter will not ride the bus again until the issue is resolved.
