Flames ravage Mt. Oliver home

MT. OLIVER, Pa. — Fire crews battled a fast-moving fire that destroyed one home and caused damage to another in Mount Oliver Saturday evening.

The fire broke out before 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Margaret Street.

The couple who lived in one of the homes said they were grilling on the back deck shortly before the blaze erupted. Flames ravaged their home, leaving behind a charred structure.

The second home affected by the flames had minor damage.

Nine fire departments were called to the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is assisting two people with shelter and clothing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

In June, a massive blaze on Ormsby Avenue in Mount Oliver destroyed five homes, damaged four others and displaced 50 people.
