Multi-vehicle accident on Route 28 backs up traffic for miles during morning rush

PITTSBURGH — A multi-vehicle accident on Route 28 southbound caused major traffic delays Friday morning.

Channel 11's Trisha Pitman said the accident, near RIDC park, cause traffic to backup from the Turnpike to Fox Chapel.

Initial reports indicated that several people were hurt.

It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
