Neighbors help elderly man escape Penn Hills house fire

PENN HILLS, Pa. — Neighbors are being credited with helping save an elderly man from a burning Penn Hills home Sunday night.

Officials said the blaze was first reported just after 9:30 p.m. at a home on Rodilin Drive.

Crews at the scene said neighbors heard a man yelling from inside, so they ran in to help. The homeowner wasn’t injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the American Red Cross is assisting two people with food and shelter.
