New Castle firefighters risk lives to save man from burning home

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Two New Castle firefighters risked their lives to save a man from a burning home.

Antonio Romano and Tommy Bulisco went into the home on Wilson Avenue on Friday night.  Romano had a hunch someone was inside.

"I went low to get away from the smoke and saw a man's hand.  I tried to grab him and pull him out," said Bulisco.

The man was only 10 feet inside the home after a car in the garage caught fire.  His mother had made it out.

Bulisco was overcome with smoke and needed help getting the man out.  Romano came to the rescue.

"That's what we're we are here to do.  It makes us proud to save someone's life," said Romano.
