The building is located in the 300 block of E. North Street.

According to officials, the building originally caught fire at around 3 a.m.

Viewer video shows the flames rekindled later in the morning.

The initial call saw smoke and flames coming from the first and second floors in the wing which had previously been guest rooms.

The windows of the old building were boarded up, making it difficult for firemen to access the fire, officials said.

Since the hotel closed, the ballroom was used for a banquet center. Once that ended, the building completely closed and was boarded up.

The initial fire took around an hour and a half to bring under control, officials said.

There were no reported injuries.
