Only on WPXI: Chartiers Township man facing child pornography charges

CHARTIERS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Chartiers Township man is facing child pornography charges.

Brandon Weiss, 32, is charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography.

Many of the children in the photos found on his computer were 7 and 8 years old, police said.

"This is part of an ongoing effort to identify people in the country that are possessing and distributing child porn," said a detective.

Thursday's arrest is a first since North Strabane police joined the Southwest Pennsylvania Computer Crimes Task Force, doing undercover work to catch the offenders.

Detectives showed Channel 11 hard drives they've been going through.  They've also been pulling Skype logs, graphic Google searches and pornographic videos and photos.

One hard drive had more than 51,000 photos, and the search isn't halfway complete.  Police said what they've obtained could lead to a second arrest.
