• Passerby calls 911 to report garage, house fire in Munhall

    Updated:

MUNHALL, Pa. - A fire spread from a garage to a house in Munhall Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said a passerby saw the garage on Homestead Duquesne Road go up in flames and called 911.

"Apparently, a gentleman was working on his vehicle and walked away, and when he came back out, the car was on fire. The garage indeed was totally involved. When I pulled on scene, the house next door, which is abandoned, was starting to catch on fire. We were able to get on scene pretty quick (and) put water on it," said Fire Chief Ed Pietsch.

No one was hurt and no estimate has been given on the damage.
