• Pens call for ‘gold out', announce big screen for playoffs

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins will carry on the tradition and allow fans to watch all Pens playoff games on a big screen near Consol Energy Center.

The announcement comes just two days before the team’s first playoff game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The team is asking anyone attending Wednesday’s game at Consol to wear gold for a “gold out.”

The Big Screen will be part of an interactive and fan-friendly First Niagara Fan Zone, featuring special promotions and giveaways. The area also will include concessions from Pittsburgh Food Trucks and a PensGear merchandise trailer.

The FanZone and Big Screen area will open four hours before home games and two hours before road games.

For safety reasons, grills and alcoholic beverages will not be permitted.
