• Petition asks Armstrong School District to give bus driver route back

    Updated:

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. - A bus driver reportedly refused to let two children off a school bus and into the hands of a possible stranger.

The Armstrong School District driver Dee Bearce refused to break the rules and is now in trouble.

An online petition with 500 signatures asks the district to give Bearce her route back.

Parents contacted Channel 11 in defense of the driver the children call “Mama Dee.”

Parents claim a woman tried to pick up two children from Bearce’s bus last week and that Bearce refused to let them go with the woman because she wasn’t authorized to take them.

The woman who was attempted to pick up the children was actually their grandmother.

There was reportedly no paperwork that would have allowed the woman to take the kids.
