POISE Foundation approves new 10-year strategic plan, aims to grow endowment

PITTSBURGH — The POISE Foundation, a public foundation that has worked since 1980 to amplify the region’s Black community, is poised for growth, embarking on a new strategy, according to a release.

Chief among them was the organization’s approval of a new 10-year strategic plan, a roadmap for its goals between 2025 and 2034. According to the release, the POISE Foundation engaged with local firm Common Cause Consultants on the plan’s creation.

One of the foundation’s biggest goals is to significantly grow its endowed funds to $100 million. Per a foreword in a summary of the plan by its leadership, the foundation grew its assets to $15 million in 2024.
