Police: Convicted sex offender sent child porn files to undercover officer

COLLIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Collier Township man is facing child pornography charges after investigators said he sent files to an undercover officer online.

According to police, detectives interviewed 56-year-old Mark Torgent at his Kellington Drive home on Wednesday.

“They had guns in their hands and helmets on. We were (watching it) in total shock,” one neighbor said of the raid at Torgent’s home.

Police didn’t find anything at his house, but said they found a computer at the offices of Tenova Core in Moon where he worked as a contractor, that contained child pornography.

Investigators said some of the pornography showed children as young as 4 years old.

Channel 11’s Dave Bondy reported that Wednesday wasn’t Torgent’s first arrest. In 2004, he was convicted on charges of receiving child pornography.

“I figured he was rehabbed and it was alright. I thought he straightened his act out, but apparently not,” the neighbor said.

Torgent is now facing charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. Given his past convictions, he could face jail time.
