ong> - A western Pennsylvania man has been cited for animal cruelty and other crimes because police said he tried to pick a fight with his grandmother's 15-year-old dog.

Nicholas Wooddell, 21, of Hopewell Township, was briefly jailed Sunday after the incident.

One Beaver County newspaper reported the incident happened Oct. 10 when Wooddell pounded on the woman's door to get inside. Once there, police said Wooddell punched the dog which was lying on the floor and left. Police said Wooddell had recently been staying at his grandmother's home but was asked to leave.
