Police investigating fatal Mount Oliver home invasion

MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. — Authorities have identified the 49-year-old man who was killed during an apparent home invasion over the weekend in Mount Oliver.

Police said Nicholas Fiumaro was shot multiple times inside his Stamm Avenue apartment around 11 a.m. Sunday.

No arrests have been made, and police haven’t released any details about possible suspects.

Mount Oliver residents told Channel 11’s Shelby Zarotney that the shooting is the latest unfortunate event in the area.

“It doesn’t matter what time of day anymore,” Mount Oliver resident Frank Bernardini said.

Bernardini said he’s lived in Mount Oliver since the '70s, but he’s seen his fair share of questionable activity in the apartment building.

“Police are limited to what they can do,” Bernardini said.

Dorian Knight, who also lives in the area, said it’s important to be aware of what’s going on.

“I try to keep aware of the surroundings. It’s what you have to do. It’s crazy to be that way, but it’s the way,” Knight said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.
