Police investigating fatal shooting in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — Police have a new clue in the search for a gunman who shot a man and left him for dead in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

Richard DiDonato, 66, was shot Monday night on Woodland Avenue.

"I heard a couple shots.  I went outside and the gentleman was laying on the sidewalk," said neighbor Don Ruch.

Ruch said DiDonato was alive when paramedics got to him, but he later died at Allegheny General Hospital.

DiDonato cared for his parents at their home in Bellevue.  His family members said they didn't know where he went the Monday night.

DiDonato's car was stolen after the shooting, and it was found on the North Side Tuesday, police said.

Police are processing the car for evidence.
