Police search apartment in connection with death of Mercer Co. man

MERCER COUNTY, Pa. — Police continue to investigate the death of a Mercer County man after he was found dead in his home Thursday morning.

Frank Crash, 76, was found dead at his Mercer County home of what police said appeared not to be natural causes.

After Crash was late to work on Thursday, police said a family member went to check on him at his home on Mercer Road and found him on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds and his cellphone smashed to pieces next to him.

According to a search warrant filed late Friday afternoon, police learned more as to why Crash would be a target after searching an apartment a few miles away from his home.

In the search warrant, police said they found dried blood in the bathroom and a bloody shirt in the garage of the apartment.

Police have not named any suspects or a person of interest, but according to affidavit of probable cause, detectives said the apartment they searched was a family member of Crash.
