Police: Man hands murder weapon over to police in Ziploc bag

CARRICK, Pa. — Police made an arrest in a deadly Carrick shooting, and it's how investigators recovered the murder weapon that has got Channel 11's attention.

Police said Loc Vong apparently knew police were looking for him because, according to the criminal complaint, he walked into a Pittsburgh police station, carrying a gun in a Ziploc bag, and said, "I'm the shooter."

Vong, 22, is accused of killing Michael Palombia, 18, over opening a car door.

Police said the men argued outside of a bar on Brownsville Road.

Vong was in the back seat of a car when Palombia opened the door to talk to a driver, police said.  Vong allegedly yelled, "It's cold outside. Can you close the door?"

Police said the two physically fought before Vong fired two shots.

Palombia died at the hospital.

Vong is charged with murder.
