• Police: Man held at knifepoint while suspect demanded money, drugs


    WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. - Authorities in Westmoreland County are looking for a man accused of trying to rob a man and woman at knifepoint early Saturday morning.

    According to the police report, Krystal Hedderman and Douglas Houck were at Houck’s Madison Avenue home in Export Borough when a man knocked on the door about 2:30 a.m.

    Investigators said Houck answered the door and the man tackled him and demanded money and drugs.

    Hedderman tried to run and get help, but the man grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground. The man then ordered Houck and Hedderman to sit at a table where he held a steak knife to Houck’s throat.

    Police said the man threatened to kill Houck if they didn’t give him money and drugs.

    Hedderman eventually managed to escape the house and called 911 from a nearby home.

    The suspect, who was described as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black bandana, had fled the scene by time police arrived.

    Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.
