Police: Man tried to buy unregistered gun to kill officer

ALIQUIPPA, Pa. — A Beaver County man is facing charges after authorities said he tried to buy an unregistered gun to kill a police officer.

According to the police report, officers arrested 23-year-old Derrell Jackson after he allegedly asked another man to help him buy an unregistered gun.

The report said Jackson had intentions of shooting a police officer, as well as a victim in a crime involving his father.

“We have to take everything seriously. We lost an officer in the line of duty and you just don't take these types of threats lightly,” said Sgt. Steve Roberts.
